Raymond James hosts student standouts in Capture the Flag event

Raymond James hosted its fifth Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity challenge, virtually welcoming teams of students from 14 colleges and one team of experts from the FBI and United States Secret Service. The event was designed to educate and develop students’ skill sets while also introducing them to Raymond James culture.
University of Central Florida took home the $10,000 first prize. The University of Florida placed second and landed the $5,000 prize, and Purdue University came in third and walked away with a $2,500 prize.

The teams worked throughout the day to complete multiple challenges based on real-world threat scenarios facing firms in the financial sector. The event was a collaboration between IT and Campus Recruiting to help generate a pipeline of high-caliber information security talent nationwide.
During the event, students were evaluated on core Raymond James behaviors such as subject-matter passion, teamwork and collaboration. In addition to providing a hands-on educational opportunity, the CTF helps to identify top IT students for our IT Accelerated Development Program (ADP) roles as well as internships.
