The Raymond James Equity Research team has achieved national recognition for insightful analysis and timely recommendations. Our approximately 60 research analysts follow nearly 1,100 stocks in nine industries. While our focus remains on small- and mid-capitalization companies, our supply-chain approach and desire to develop deep sector expertise results in substantial coverage of large-cap companies as well, ensuring we can provide recommendations across the market-cap spectrum.
An Equity Research managing director is primarily responsible for:
• Developing strategic coverage roadmap, tactical marketing and corporate access plans in coordination with the director of Equity Research
• Overseeing and contributing to the production of written equity research reports and detailed financial models, including detailed financial analysis, valuation analysis, and investment opinions
• Maintaining extensive contact with internal and external clients, as well as with senior management
An Equity Research director is primarily responsible for:
• Supporting an asset manager in preparing industry and company research by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related research reports, and creating/maintaining financial models
• Leading major projects, programs or processes with significant business impact
• Providing comprehensive solutions to complex problems or needs
• Influencing strategic direction and developing tactical plans and completes complex assignments with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions
• Extensive interaction with senior management
An Equity Research vice president is primarily responsible for:
• Supporting small- and mid- capitalization research for core and growth strategies and closely track industry and company developments in order to advise sales force and clients on stocks within a defined universe
• Supporting an asset manager in preparing industry and company research by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related research reports, and creating/maintaining financial models
• Leading major projects, programs or processes with significant business impact
An Equity Research analyst is primarily responsible for:
• Supporting an asset manager in preparing industry and company research by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related research reports, and creating/maintaining financial models
In this two-year program, an Equity Research associate analyst can expect to have the following responsibilities:
• Responsibility for determining research strategy and planning for their assigned sector
• Executing the research process, including: preparing industry and company research, creating and projecting financial models, developing and effectively articulating an industry thesis and industry report, making and maintaining contacts within the industry and representing Raymond James at sector related functions
• Primary research responsibility of a handful of stocks in their universe
In this three-year program, a research associate can expect to have the following responsibilities:
• Preparing industry and company research by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related research reports, and creating/maintaining financial models
• Assembling and analyzing data on select growth companies
• Help to identify and formulate new investment ideas in targeted industry groups to support the generation of new business activity
An Equity Research intern can expect to have the following responsibilities:
• Follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity
• Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to a higher level
• Routine contact with internal and external customers may be required to exchange basic information
