Larry Adam joined Raymond James in 2018 as the chief investment officer for Private Client Group. Prior to joining Raymond James, Larry, as a managing director, held the dual roles of CIO of the Americas and global chief investment strategist for Deutsche Bank private wealth management. He sat on the U.S. investment committee, the management team responsible for investment strategy and asset allocation for U.S. discretionary client portfolios. He was also a member of Deutsche Bank’s global investment committee that formalizes and establishes the global house view. Prior to being named Deutsche Bank’s global chief investment strategist, Larry was the head of the asset allocation and quantitative analysis group, the group responsible for analyzing and implementing client-specific asset allocation strategies. He joined Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown in 1992.
Larry received a B.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Loyola University Maryland in 1991 and received a master’s degree in business with a concentration in finance from Loyola University Maryland in 1993. He received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996, the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM certification in 2001 and the Certified Financial Planner® designation in 2004. Larry has been featured prominently on CNBC and Bloomberg and is frequently quoted in well-known publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and The International Herald Tribune.

Eugenio J. Alemán, Ph.D., joined Raymond James in 2022 as the Chief Economist for the Investment Strategy group. Before joining Raymond James, Eugenio served as chief economist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA). Prior to his work at the EIA, Eugenio was with Wells Fargo for 16 years, first as a director and senior economist for Wells Fargo Securities, where he covered the U.S. domestic consumer profile, contributed to the analysis of the global economy and researched the commodities, energy and metals markets. He had previous roles with IHS Markit and Shell Argentina in addition to being a professor of economics at multiple universities.
Eugenio holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Universidad Del Salvador in Argentina, an MBA from Inter-American University in Puerto Rico and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in economics from Florida International University.

Ed Mills
Managing Director, Washington Policy
Ed Mills joined Raymond James in November 2017 as a managing director and Washington policy analyst, bringing more than 15 years of Washington, D.C., experience. Mr. Mills concentrates on the impact of Wall Street reform and housing finance policy on the financial markets and provides in-depth analysis of student lending, budget, and corporate taxation policy. He is frequently consulted by policymakers and stakeholders, and his work has been featured extensively in media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, American Banker, and CNBC.
Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Mills spent more than seven years as an analyst and head of the Washington Policy Group at FBR & Co and nearly a decade on Capitol Hill. He worked in both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, serving as a professional staff member for the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, a financial services policy advisor for Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney of New York, and a senior banking and finance policy advisor for the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He holds a B.A. in political science from Boston College.
