Hugh Tanner
Hugh, a Managing Director and senior investment banker, concentrates on representing the firm’s investment banking activities primarily in higher education, special situations, and revenue issues. Hugh has been very instrumental in the development of Privatized Student Housing across the country with over 53 transactions representing in excess of $1 Billion in development. Hugh has represented numerous local governments and issuing authorities throughout the country in the issuance of project finance, revenue and industrial development bonds. Hugh joined Raymond James from J.C. Bradford & Co. in 2000 where he had served as the Partner-in-Charge of Public Finance. He joined the industry in 1987.
A former U.S. Marine Corps officer, Hugh earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He serves on the Executive Boards of the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as a Member of the Session at First Presbyterian Church of Nashville. He currently holds his FINRA Series 7, 53, and 63 licenses.
